CPPIB Commits $742M to India Data Centre Partnership with CtrlS
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) agreed to invest up to INR 70 billion ($742 million) in Hyderabad-based CtrlS Datacenters -- INR 40 billion ($588 million) for an 8.2% direct equity stake, plus up to a further INR 30 billion ($441 million) committed to a new joint venture in which CPPIB will hold 48% (CtrlS 52%) to develop hyperscale data-centre campuses across India. CtrlS operates more than 250MW of IT capacity across Mumbai, Bangalore, Noida, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai, plus edge sites in Lucknow and Patna; the Competition Commission of India cleared the acquisition.
