The region's December unemployment rate decreased to 4.0%, 40 basis points below the national average, though industrial employment in Manufacturing and Trade/Transportation/Utilities sectors declined by 1.9% and 2.4% respectively, with the construction pipeline dominated by 3.9 million SF of build-to-suit projects representing 89% of development.
